I’ve been operating a small business offering administrative support to entrepreneurs and other small business owners. I am ready to launch my business to the next level by attaining office space and a more professional image. However, because of my credit I am unable to get a loan from anywhere. I’ve tried numerous places even online and still nothing. I have two small children so I am not really in a position to save. I currently work out of my home office but I want to market to more possible clients but I really need a more professional look. HELP!!!!!

Its not a very big town, but at what point if my business started to grow would start filing for business taxes if I had too? Or do I have to file right away?

Starting a cleaning business, whether residential or commercial, is an inexpensive, fast business to secure your future. And you are wise to research everything before you get started! Starting before you have “all your ducks in a row” might end it before you begin!

That said, business taxes and licenses really do not need to be filed before you have some established accounts. You will probably want to get a tax id for the business, at some point, not only for tax purposes but for the ability to buy your supplies wholesale.

The most important thing you need right now is liability insurance, or a bond-depending on where you live, as that protects you from damage claims and adds peace of mind to your clients.

You may want to spent less than on an excellent cleaning business kit that gives you all the forms, contracts, charts, letter and much more to start your business right. I have a link, plus tons of tips on cleaning businesses on my Squidoo lens below…
